it's been a'brewin' for six years now...

So maybe the man I loved for three years in college and then 2 years out of college broke up with his fiancee last night. And maybe two of the three of my first thoughts at the news were horrible and selfish. And maybe I'm ok with that.

thought 1: oh poor [insert common man's name here]! God, bless his heart!
thought 2: I would have married him years ago and wouldn't have done this to him.
thought 3: I wonder if that means there's hope for "us."

Slight problem: this is his third fiancee. The first resulted in a 10-year marriage. The next two failed. AND this last one is a friend of mine. Albeit he and I are closer than she and I, yet still. And their relationship isn't even cold yet and I'm a'gunnin' for him to go ahead and do all that healing and soul-searching and all that jazz just so I can have a go with him.

In other news:
I'm craving cheese dip.
I love my Costco membership.
I offered to buy a complete stranger an LL Bean robe today. I only know him from his book and his articles and blogs. I'm pretty sure it can all be classified as creepy and stalker-ish.
I love listening to the RENT soundtrack (original broadway cast, of course) on random. It makes it fun to hear things out of order.

Nashville for St. Patrick's Day. Anyone in?
